Music Project

We are making considerable progress on the banjo, but sill behind. Because our body was not made out of wood, we had to wait and buy our own piece. This also put us behind on the measurements for the neck piece, which I admittedly didn't focus all too well on measuring because of my low comprehension of online instructions regarding measurements.

My brother is the one who knows the anatomy of stringed instruments, me and my group may have overlooked something, but we have made the bridge and tailpiece and are working on the nut. I have recently obtained banjo strings but because we don't have tuning pegs and haven't gone to cut out the neck, we are caught in a jam.

Story of Stuff

The Story of Stuff showed me many things about American consumerism and its impact on the earth. I know that this linear system of gathering, consumption and disposal cannot suffice in a world with limited resources.

I buy sparingly and don't waste much, I believe that if something still works, there is no need to replace it, even if the new version looks better. There are some things I have wasted but I try to even it out.

I myself already shop and carry my lunch in reusable bags. Instead of throwing out food, I make something new with the leftovers like a quesadilla. I try to be a proper consumer but with a system like this, it can be difficult.

My first week

Being a student at HTMMA for the last two years, I can say there is not much contrast unless you are referring to my old school, St Paul's. Not only did we wear uniforms (degradation) but we had no art program and our only art class was copying peices of art down to the last detail (oppression).
Compared to that school, I am glad to be in a more expressive school. My favorite classes would have to be Humanities and I am looking forward to art class. Not to say that I don't enjoy the company of Chris but Algebra is my struggling subject (although I am confident this is a year). A success this week would be that most of my friends from HTMMA were accepted into this school as well. One struggle I would have to say is the electricity problems. Last year math was too difficult and science came easily to me. I guess its the combination of math into the elctricity problems. And the Algebra assignment, I finished in two days with a half hour's work without much trouble. This year is gonna be different.
